How I Collaborate
with VALSTATS.
High-performance backend systems meet community operations and product ideation. Here is how ryleq and I divide our labor to build VALSTATS.
The Builder & The Community Lead

Systems Engineering · VALSTATS Core“High-performance infrastructure requires unbroken focus. The engine runs best when the builder is insulated from public noise.”
-
Pure Code Isolation: Zero public DMs or support distraction. Dedicated entirely to software stability.
-
High-Performance Ingestion: Concurrent Rust services processing millions of match events with zero latency.
-
Database Architecture: Complex query optimizations and partitioned indexing for instant player lookups.

Community Operations · Socials · Product Direction“ryleq builds the core platform in isolation. I manage the community, run the socials, and pitch feature ideas so he builds without distraction.”
-
Research & Field Reports: Leads empirical data writeups and research publications on reports.valstats.site.
-
The Community Shield: Moderates the official Discord, maintains all official socials, and filters noise before engineering.

Product & Feature Ideation: Pitches new website features, UI concepts, and usability improvements directly to ryleq.
Engineering vs Operations.
Core infrastructure and the community front.
A successful project requires a clean division of labor. ryleq engineers the backend architecture for VALSTATS. He writes high-performance Rust services and database indexing pipelines. His systems ingest millions of match events with zero latency. He focuses entirely on software architecture and server stability.
I do not touch the Rust backend code. My independent Gun Buddy research remains completely separate. In VALSTATS, I run the public front. I maintain all official social media channels. I moderate the community and triage feedback so ryleq works without distraction.
I also pitch new features and website improvements directly to ryleq. Together with our research papers on reports.valstats.site, this creates a clean loop. ryleq builds the engine. I manage the community, shape product ideas, and keep our public presence active.
"ryleq builds the core platform. I maintain the socials, moderate the community, and pitch feature ideas so he builds without distraction."
Feature ideation and community.
Protecting the developer from daily noise.
Software development requires unbroken mental focus. Solo engineers often drown in repetitive support messages. I protect ryleq from that daily noise. I manage the official socials and moderate the VALSTATS Discord server. I monitor the community channels every day.
When players report issues, I verify their reproduction steps. I group similar complaints into actionable bug reports. I answer user questions before they reach ryleq's inbox. This buffer allows ryleq to focus completely on code.
We also collaborate on platform features. I pitch practical features based on real player requests. I design clean user interfaces and data visualization workflows. ryleq reviews the technical requirements and writes the implementation. This feedback loop turns live community ideas into working tools.
"Protecting developer attention produces better code. A community manager filters noise so engineers can build."
